Dedicated to Service Stamp.png

I'm Jenny McDonald, a dedicated public servant with over a decade of experience in local government and volunteerism focused on strengthening our community through service.

Passionate about civic engagement, I served for several years as an election officer, helped form our local VA250 Committee, and have been actively involved as a member of the Winchester Public Schools Superintendent’s Advisory Council. When I’m not walking one of our three dogs, digging in the garden, attending one of our great city events, or biking around Winchester with my husband and kids, I also enjoy volunteering in the community. I’m a graduate of the city’s Civic Leadership Academy and hold a Master of Public Administration with a certificate in economic development from Tulane University. As a student in Tulane's John Lewis Public Administration Program, I embraced the principle of making "good trouble" through persistent, ethical leadership, and this philosophy guides my approach to public service.

From volunteering at city events to advocating for our schools, I'm committed to making Ward 2 a more vibrant and connected place to live. Let’s work together to build a brighter, more prosperous community for every family in Winchester.

I'm ready to put my experience into action by listening to your concerns

and delivering real results for our neighbors.

Winchester is more than just where I live. It’s where my family has built a life. It’s where two of our three children were born and are growing up. It’s where my husband and I got married and have formed lasting friendships, and where we have experienced the incredible sense of community that makes this city so special.

Like many of you, I’ve dedicated countless hours to volunteering, attending community events and meetings, supporting local businesses, and working alongside neighbors who care deeply about our city. These experiences have given me the opportunity to see firsthand the passion, charm, creativity, and generosity that define Winchester.

Professionally, I’ve spent more than a decade serving communities through local government. I've worked in legal services, public affairs, constituent services, economic development, and project management.

I believe strong communities are built from the ground up through service, collaboration, engagement, and respectful conversation. I believe local government works best when residents have a seat at the table and a voice in the decisions that affect their lives.

That belief is at the heart of my campaign.

Together, we can build a community where every neighborhood is connected, every resident has a voice, and every family has the opportunity to succeed. This campaign is not about one person. It’s about all of us. It’s about the future we want to create together and the legacy we leave for the next generation.

I’m running for City Council because I love this city, I believe in its people, and I know our best days are still ahead of us.

I’m ready to listen, ready to serve, and ready to get to work.

I hope you'll join me.
